Shooting victim found in KCK alley dies from injuries

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Detectives with the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department are investigating another homicide after a shooting victim passed away.
It happened in the 500 block of Elizabeth Ave. around 9:20 p.m.
Officers went to the area after receiving a call about shots being fired.
When officers arrived, they found a man lying in an alley who had apparent gunshot wounds.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Ultimately, he passed away due to those injuries.
He has now been identified as 34-year-old Thomas Wheeler.
The KCKPD’s Major Case Unit is investigating.
